CHP Plant Efficiency Report and Scheme Upgrade
West Cork: €1.5M
Preparation of reports for a full efficiency review of the existing CHP installation consisting of a Siemens GT 5.4 MWe gas fired turbine along with a Alborg water tube waste heat , 30 barg operating pressure ,steam raising boiler with a thermal duty of 8,500 kWt when unfired and 19,700 kWt when supplementary fired with a view to immediate restoration of the design intent in accordance with the requirement of the CER for HE CHP plant and for recommendations, costing and cost and carbon reduction returns for the scheme enhancement to achieves a higher value Power Energy Saving required to eliminate the potential for carbon charges due to a risk of certification downgrading for the CHP plant. The review to include the waste heat steam boiler feedwater system, flue gas heat recovery, supplementary burner firing system, hot gas flow passage and the turbine air make-up arrangement. The basis for the review in accordance with the above was set out for the three following scenarios and as per the achieved individualized and overall efficiency matrix below:
- Design intent seasonal efficiency
- Actual achieved seasonal efficiency based on three year operational performance period.
- Predicted seasonal efficiency with scheme recommended upgrades.
